Recanati-based Morici’s first collection to spotlight inlay was Venezia, which celebrates high-impact shapes and shades through geometric wood grain mosaics. Each sheet of inlay is pieced together using various veneers that have been painted, finished and super gloss-varnished by hand; these are then laser-cut to fit the required dimensions. Backed by the highest levels of manual artistry, the Cannaregio watch box shows how captivating the results of this meticulous process – which dates back to the 1300s – can be. It’s complete with an Alcantara lining, chrome-plated hardware, plus a lock and key.
