Midsummer Seaside Ottchil Glass Shot Glass
The Seaside collection by Vonz came to be in 2020 during the pandemic, inspired by the founder Jeongeun Kang’s silent visit to Jeju Island in 2018. While journeying along the Okke Trail, she sat down beside an unknown sea and found her thoughts silenced by the sight of green waters and foamy waves crashing against the red rock – the exact moment that informs this shot glass. To recreate it, she utilises the Korean ottchil technique, where 30 thin layers of rhus tree-derived lacquer are applied to create a distinct watercolour effect.
